FAQ's

What is Citra-Blaze 535?

Citra-Blaze 535 is a concentrated, water-based degreaser from Nyco that uses a citrus solvent. Nyco rates it for heavy buildups of dirt, oil, grease, tar, ink, and rubber marks, and for loosening carbonized soils. It is safe on metal, glass, plastic, and fiberglass. Gym Floor Resource sells it as a case of four 1-gallon bottles.

How do I dilute Citra-Blaze 535?

Nyco recommends 1 part Citra-Blaze to 40 parts water for light soil, 1:20 for medium soil, and 1:10 for heavy soil. At 1:20 that works out to about 6.4 ounces per gallon of water. Mix it in a mop bucket or auto scrubber tank and test a small area first.

Is Citra-Blaze 535 a pH neutral cleaner?

No. Nyco lists Citra-Blaze 535 at pH 11.0 to 11.8, so it is an alkaline degreaser meant for heavy soil, not daily mopping. For routine cleaning of gym floors, a pH neutral, no-rinse cleaner such as Tac-Tite is the usual choice, with Citra-Blaze kept for periodic deep cleaning.

Can I use Citra-Blaze 535 on rubber or synthetic sport floors?

Only for occasional heavy-soil cleaning, after testing. Citra-Blaze 535 is an alkaline (pH 11) degreaser, so try it on a small, out of the way area first and check your floor manufacturer’s maintenance guide, since some makers specify which cleaners keep a warranty valid. For routine cleaning of rubber and synthetic sport floors, use a pH neutral cleaner such as Tac-Tite.

What surfaces should I keep Citra-Blaze 535 away from?

Nyco warns that Citra-Blaze 535 may attack some latex paint, so keep it off painted walls, lines, and logos unless you have tested the area. It is safe on metal, glass, plastic, and fiberglass. Read the label and SDS before use, and wear the protection the SDS lists for a pH 11 product.
