35% Solids Oil Modified Urethane Sanding Sealer

A fast drying, solvent based coating formulated to penetrate and seal bare wood surfaces before finishing.
This product contains no stearates making it suitable for use under oil modified urethanes as well as a
variety of other finishes. Dries to a clear film that does not obscure wood grain. Typically dry for sanding in
4-6 hours. Additional coats may be applied if desired or on very porous woods that may not be completely
sealed in one coat.

SURFACE PREPARATION

Sand surface as appropriate and vacuum. Tack with Excelsior Waterless Cleaner (#2702). Apply Sanding Sealer and allow to dry 4-6 hours (depending on conditions). Sand or Screen Back with 100 grit then vacuum thoroughly and tack with Waterless Cleaner before finishing or second coat.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Stir product well and apply without thinning in an even coat using a lambswool applicator. First apply against wood grain, then smooth in with the grain of the wood using straight, even strokes. Pour finish into applicator pan using a pan screen to remove excess finish. Do not puddle finish. Cool temperatures or high humidity will extend dry times. Clean up equipment after use with All Purpose Thinner (#8999). Do not apply if air or surface temperature will be below 50° F within 8 hours. Finish with two coats of oil modified urethane with abrading, vacuuming and tacking between coats.
