Line Taping Machines
Line taping machines help gym floor contractors and facility maintenance crews apply straight, parallel strips of masking tape and create precise curves, circles, and arcs for basketball, volleyball, pickleball, and other sports courts. These professional machines simplify marking sidelines, baselines, center court circles, and key arcs while maintaining consistent line widths. With compatible radius pole kits and optional 3-point pole kits, contractors can also lay out basketball 3-point arcs accurately and efficiently.
Gym Floor Resource carries professional court line taping equipment for indoor and outdoor sports surfaces, including the Treska Court-Line Taping Machine with 6 ft Radius Pole Kit and the EMack GameLine Tape Machine. Both support straight lines and curved court markings with compatible accessories. We also offer a Court-Line Straight-Line Taping Machine for applications such as tennis and pickleball courts, along with radius pole kits, 3-point pole kits, tape guides, and replacement parts.
How to Tape Basketball Court Lines
Map Your Reference Marks: Establish the primary baseline and center lines using a chalk line or string, pulling dimensions directly from official high school, NCAA, or FIBA court blueprints.
Anchor the Center Points: For basketball court line taping, utilize a goal centering device or plumb-bob dropped from the hoop rim to find the exact center of the court.
Set Up the Court Line Taping Machine: Load two parallel rolls of 1-inch or 2-inch premium painters tape into the machine. Adjust the tape guides to your required game line width (typically 2 inches for standard basketball courts).
Follow the Guide Track: Line up the machine’s front pointer guide with your chalk line. Push the unit forward at a steady pace from a standing position. The non-marking wheels will press the tape flat, preventing paint bleed.
Mask the Arcs & Circles: Attach a radius pivot arm to your court line marking machine to smoothly swing and mask the 3-point lines, free throw keys, and center jump circles without kinks.

The standard width for basketball court game lines (including the NBA, NCAA, and high school regulations) is 2 inches wide. Your line taping machine should be calibrated to apply parallel strips of tape precisely 2 inches apart to frame the painted area.
Yes. Professional sport-surface taping machines are compatible with standard 1-inch and 2-inch rolls of masking or painter’s tape. However, for gym floors, contractors should use premium, medium-to-high adhesion tape that prevents paint bleed under hardwood finishes.
Commercial-grade court line tape machines are built with specialized, non-marking wheels. These wheels apply uniform downward pressure to seal the tape edges without scuffing, spinning out, or damaging raw wood or freshly sealed gym floors.
Both the Treska Court-Line and EMack GameLine taping machines can create straight court lines, center circles, and curved markings. The Court-Line includes a 6 ft radius pole kit for circles up to 12 ft in diameter, with an optional 3-Point Pole Kit for basketball 3-point arcs. The EMack GameLine supports circles up to 12 ft in diameter and offers a telescopic pole kit for larger 3-point arcs. Explore our basketball court line taping machines to compare options.
Yes. Court-Line taping machines can be used on suitable wood, concrete, and asphalt surfaces to mark straight lines for tennis, pickleball, basketball, and other sports courts. For projects that primarily require straight lines, the Court-Line Straight-Line Taping Machine offers a simpler configuration without the center pivot, flex joint, or radius poles. Models equipped with compatible pole kits can also create circles and curved court markings.
